According to a report in Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, Brad has bought a $1.1 million (Dhs4 million) home in the Hollywood Hills which he’ll move into while he and Ange sort through the separation. The two-bedroom house comes complete with a cave in the foundation and is said to have had Brad’s eye for some time.

A source tells the publication, “He decided now was the right time to buy because he wanted a place to call his own. He needs somewhere quiet that doesn’t have memories of Angie where he can be alone and think about what he does next.”

Let’s hope he has mirrors in the new house so he can finally shave that ghastly beard!

Elin has reportedly dropped the divorce suit against Tiger, which she filed in November after news of his countless affairs came public. A friend tells America’s People magazine, “Elin wants a solid family life. She was a child of divorce and felt her dad slighted her. She absolutely does not want that to happen to (daughters) Sam and Charlie.”

But Elin’s not quite ready to resume a loving relationship with the sportsman. “She wants to keep her family together even if she and Tiger live together as friends instead of lovers.”

The quake, which hit at 5pm on January 12, just 10 miles southwest of the country’s capital Port-au-Prince, has left a trail of devastation including the collapse of the parliament building, among other government structures. But it is the massive death toll and the thousands of victims left homeless that has got many of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities rallying support.

Haiti native and former Fugees member Wyclef Jean has urged people to donate money to help rescue efforts. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have released a message to JustJared.com saying, “We are devastated by the news from Haiti. We will work closely with our good friend Wyclef Jean to support the humanitarian efforts on the island and help those who have been injured and left without homes and shelter.”

Actress Jessica Alba has posted a message on her Twitter account urging her followers to donate to the efforts, “My 1000th tweet is for the people of Haiti. Donate for the Earthquake relief for Haiti visit www.yele.org.” Another Twittering celebrity, Olivia Wilde has promised to send personalised thank you videos to each of her followers who donates more than $200 (Dhs735). “Those who give $200 or more will get a personal thank you video… THANK YOU for your donation, OF ANY AMOUNT. they are all crucial.”

Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong has already donated Dhs918,000 to charities working to rebuild the devastated nation. “On behalf of Livestrong and everybody at our organisation we’d like to pledge $250,000 for the relief efforts down there for two primary organisations: Partners In Health – great friends of ours doing great work in that country – and also Doctors Without Borders.”

Other celebrities pledging their support for the cause include Oprah, Coldplay, Shakira and Kim Kardashian.

But she’s finally decided to slow things down. After completing her 11-month world tour in Trinidad and Tobago on February 10, the singer revealed she’ll be taking a much needed six-month break from work. She tells USA Today, “It’s definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries. I’d like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again.”

In 2009 alone, Beyonce enjoyed the phenomenal successful of her album I Am…Sahsa Fierce , was hailed Billboard magazine’s Woman of the Year, and even sang at President Barack Obama’s inauguration ball.

And now, she’s ready for a break. “I’m going to do random things. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class and see some movies and Broadway shows.” But the hardworking singer does admit that she’ll most likely miss recording. “It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, ‘I’m ready!’ I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head. I have to tell myself, ‘Sit down! Sit down’.”

But when the young actress arrived at her audition for Ben Affleck’s The Town, he had no idea who she was. And on top of that, he didn’t think she’d be good in front of the camera. But after hearing her audition, Ben was blown away, offering her the part of Krista Coughlin on the spot.

He tells Esquire magazine, “This girl came in, and no one had said to me beforehand, ‘Hey, look for this person.’ And obviously she was really attractive, and so I thought, ‘Oh, here comes some blonde girl.’ She came in, did one reading, and just crushed it. I was sort of stunned.”

In the crime drama film, directed by Ben, Blake plays a single mum, an obvious departure from her TV role as privileged teen Serena Van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. But confident in his decision, Ben says, “I just said, ‘Look, there’s no alternative. I don’t have a second choice (in casting this role).’”

Ben also jokes that he could one day be credited for his decision to cast the up-and-comer. “I want to be on the record because I think she’s really going to blow up, and I want to look like the smart guy. I didn’t quite discover her, but at least I want to say I bought the stock when it wasn’t $500 a share.”

Her strange choice of a supporting act comes after years of identifying with the make-up clad Culture Club singer. “I didn’t fit in at high school, I wanted to be like Boy George and I felt like a freak. So now I like to create this atmosphere for my fans where they feel like they have a freak in me to hang out with, and they don’t feel alone.”

Boy is currently on probation after a short stint in jail and was recently banned from starring in the UK reality show Celebrity Big Brother.

The pair, who met on the set of Bull Durham and have two sons together, Jack, 20 and Miles, 17, have so far kept schtum on the reasons behind their break-up, but it’s rumoured Susan was after a younger version of her 12-years-younger toyboy. After all, since the split, SS has been linked to not one, but two younger men – her 31-year-old business associate Jonathan Bricklin and a anonymous “younger looking fellow.”

The pop megastar and the hunky Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder make something of a perfect couple (ugh) and have been photographed getting more than cosy at their Mexican resort this week.
